Sheriff to Target Cinco de Mayo Drunk Drivers

The sheriff's Imperial Beach station will be out in force Saturday in search of impaired drivers.

Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's will conduct saturation patrols Saturday in search for impaired drivers.

In a campaign being called "Drive Sober, Or Get Pulled Over," the sheriff will also set up a checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the City of Imperial Beach.

Citizens who believe they have seen a driver under the influence of alcohol or other substances are encouraged to call 911 to report the driver's exact location, vehicle make and model and license plate number.

"One call could save a life," said a press release announcing the effort to deter drunk driving sent out Thursday afternoon.
