Hundreds of Marijuana Bales Found in Trailer

Two men were arrested with more than 1,100 pounds of marijuana, about 450 grams of methamphetamine and eight grams of cocaine.

Undercover narcotics detectives seized more than 1,100 pounds of marijuana with a street value of about $692,000 from a home in the 500 block of Seventh Street, San Diego Police Department officials said.

SDPD received information that a large quantity of marijuana might be delivered to the home. Bales of marijuana plants were spotted inside a U-Haul truck by the agents around 10 p.m. Wednesday. A warrant was then approved to search the property.

A total of 449 grams of methamphetamine valued at $45,000 and 8.5 grams of cocaine were also seized.

Two men found loading the trailer, Eddie Martinez, 34, and Juan Carlos Rodriguez, 36, were arrested on suspicion of possession of each of the drugs with intent to sell.

Their city of residence could not be confirmed at this time.
