Search for Homicide Suspect Forces Elementary School to Lockdown

The lockdown took place at Central Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department requested that Central Elementary School go into lockdown Wednesday afternoon as the San Diego County Fugitive Task Force searched the area for a homicide suspect, said Sgt. William Amavista.

The task force arrested a homicide suspect in Imperial Beach last October.

Calls to the task force for comment Thursday were not returned.
