that hit IB and Southern California Sunday afternoon, high winds knocked a traffic and street light down into westbound Palm Avenue traffic.
IB saw sustained wind speeds of 26 mph and wind gusts near 40 mph Sunday afternoon. Surf and wind advisories were issued by the National Weather Service.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department received a call about the downed pole around 4 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
CalTrans crews moved the pole out of the way, placing it on a street divider, and converted the street into a four-way stop sign.
High winds also knocked down a large portion of a home's fence on Imperial Beach Boulevard.
"My biggest concern was that no one got hurt by it, someone walking by or something," said Gary Richards, who didn't notice the fence was down until a neighbor who thought his dogs got loose told him.
