Flasher Exposes Self to Teens Walking Home from School

The flasher exposed himself to minors walking home from school in two separate incidents in National City earlier this week.

Authorities warned the public Thursday about a flasher who exposed himself to three girls as they were on their way home from school in National City.

Two Granger Junior High School students were walking in the 1700 block of East 18th Street about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when an overweight man sitting in a parked dark-green SUV called over them over, according to police.

Realizing as they approached that the man was exposing and fondling himself, the girls hurried away.

About two hours later, a similar-looking vehicle drove past a Sweetwater High School student several times as she was on her way home on West 16th Street. The SUV then stopped on the roadside, and the victim saw the driver and sole occupant performing a lewd act as she walked past, police said.

The victims described the perpetrator as a roughly 5-foot-5-inch, 200-pound man who appeared to be in his late 30s or early 40s, with a protruding stomach and possibly a large tattoo on his right arm.

He was driving a "boxy" SUV, possibly a Jeep, with stickers on the back window and a spare tire near the trunk, according to police.
