Nestor Woman Killed in Coronado Avenue Car Accident

This story was reported by City News Service.

Authorities released the name of a 29-year-old San Diego woman Friday who died after she veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into another motorist on an Otay Mesa thoroughfare.

Erendira Boites was fatally injured in the 2600 block of Coronado Avenue, just east of Interstate 5, around 8:40 a.m. Thursday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. She died at the scene.

Boites lived with her family in the Nestor area of San Diego, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

It was not immediately clear what caused Boites to veer into oncoming traffic but neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

The other driver, a 31-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to UCSD Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
