Driver Flees Border Patrol Into Nestor, Snarls Traffic
The male was taken into custody and had a slight injury, police said.

A motorist fleeing from a Border Patrol agent Monday plowed a car through a trolley crossing gate at a Nestor intersection, then jumped out and made a failed attempt to escape on foot, authorities reported.
The crash at Tocayo Avenue and Oro Vista Road occurred about 9:30 a.m., according to San Diego police. The pursuing federal officer took the unidentified suspect into custody moments later, SDPD public-affairs Officer Ed Zwibel said.

The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to a hospital for evaluation of a shoulder injury he suffered during the foot chase, possibly by being hit by a passing vehicle.
Investigators found an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine in the
Honda Civic driven by the suspect, according to Jerry Conlin of the Border Patrol.

The incident left the crossing shut down, along with a nearby offramp from southbound Interstate 5, through late morning.
