Crash on Leon Ave. Injures Driver

Alcohol was a factor in the Christmas-night crash, police say.

A 22-year-old woman was hospitalized Christmas night with serious injuries after the car she was driving on Leon Avenue struck a parked truck, according to San Diego police.

The woman was driving eastbound on Leon Avenue near Thermal Avenue around 8:30 p.m. when she veered to the left a hit a stake truck parked on the street, said Sgt. David Jennings. Alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The driver broke a femur and a hip as a result of the crash, Jennings said.
