Woman Finds Burglar Inside Her Home

Update 2:54 p.m.

A woman returned home from picking her kids up from school Wednesday afternoon to find a burglar in her home, according to Sgt. Miles Ting with the sheriff's Imperial Beach substation.

"The victim came home from running errands and there was a guy in her house. And she ran one way to her neighbors house to call the police and he apparently jumped out the window," he said.

The interrupted burglary took place at 386 Ebony Ave. around 1 p.m., Ting said.

An ASTREA helicopter and several deputies were called to the scene to assist and search the area around the home one block from Mar Vista High School and the Sports Park and Recreation Center.

No arrests have been made, Ting said.

Deputies are still evaluating what was stolen during the burglary.

Anyone with details is asked to call the sheriff's substation at 619-498-2400 or 858-565-5200.
