Body Found on Border Field State Park Shoreline

A body found last Thursday in Border Field State Park surf was identified as a 13-year-old boy who was caught in a rip current near Tijuana and drowned.

Authorities Friday sought to identify a man whose body washed up along the shore of Border Field State Park in Imperial Beach.

A state wildlife employee discovered the body about a quarter-mile from the mouth of the Tijuana River in Imperial Beach Thursday morning, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Last Thursday a body of a 13-year-old boy washed ashore in the same area that was later identified as that of a swimmer who was caught in a rip current July 15 and drowned after swimming at Playas de Tijuana in Mexico. A 16-year-old boy who American and Mexican lifeguards searched for was not found.
