Alleged Armed Robber in IB Also on SD's Most Wanted List

Joaquin Abraham Lugo, 31, is listed as most wanted for allegedly robbing a pedestrian at gunpoint in Imperial Beach last year.

In case you're wondering if there are other Imperial Beach suspects on San Diego County's “Most Wanted” list, the answer is yes.

This follows the hours-long overnight standoff that ended Friday when attempted murder suspect Ramiro Espinoza, 34, was arrested.

The other most wanted fugitive with community connections is Joaquin Abraham Lugo, 31, who is being sought for allegedly robbing a pedestrian at gunpoint in Imperial Beach one year ago. The charges are robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

He is described as 5'8'', 170 pounds and is known as Griffo.

Lugo is a gang member, according to his description by the San Diego County Sheriffs Department, and frequents south San Diego and National City. His criminal history includes weapons possession and armed assault.

If you spot Lugo, here are your options:

  • Call 911 if it's an emergency.
  • For non-emergencies, there is the Sheriff’s Communications Center at (858) 565-5200.
  • San Diego Crime Stoppers takes tips at (888) 580-8477. You can remain anonymous and some cases may carry a reward.
