Chainsaws, $7K in Gardening Tools Stolen from Public Works Yard

Burglars took weed trimmers, chainsaws, leaf blowers and other landscaping tools.

Approximately $7,000 in gardening equipment was stolen from a storage building at the City of Imperial Beach Public Works yard in the 400 block of 10th Street, according to Sgt. Joel Stranger.

"Two blowers, nine weed trimmers, chainsaws and other miscellaneous gardening stuff," Stranger said. "All this stuff should be marked with 'Property of City of Imperial Beach.'"

The burglary took place when the yard was closed between 6 p.m. April and 7:30 a.m. the next day. City employees noticed the tools were missing the morning of April 3, Stranger said.
