$50K in Cookware Stolen from 13th Street Garage

About 1,000 pieces of cookware was stolen after assailants cut a hole in the side of a garage in the 1100 block of the 13th Street, a sheriff's report said.

Thieves broke into the garage of an Imperial Beach home earlier this month and stole 1,000 pieces of Princess House cookware worth an estimated $50,000, according to sheriff's substation Sgt. William Uelan.

Individuals can earn a commission by selling Princess House pots, pans and kitchen utensils, according to the company's website.

It appears assailants forced themselves into the garage in the 1100 block of 13th Street by cutting a 2-foot by 2.5-foot hole in the side of the garage, he said. 

Bicycles, a computer and miscellaneous tools worth an estimated $720 were also stolen, according to the police report.

The burglary was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. Aug. 19 and is believed to have occurred between 10 a.m. Aug. 17 and 10 a.m. Aug. 19.
