2 Arrested in IB Graffiti Vandalism Totaling Nearly $25K

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has arrested two people accused of vandalizing IB homes, businesses or city property at a cost of nearly $25,000.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department arrested two people last month allegedly responsible for graffiti totaling nearly $25,000 in damages and cleanup costs, said Sergeant Jeff Duckworth. One of those arrested allegedly tagged IB businesses or homes for more than two years.

Tags with the same monicker or signature are tracked by the company Graffiti Tracker, and those convicted may be forced to pay damages and cleanup costs.

On Nov. 7, 20-year-old Anthony Bojorquez was arrested in Imperial Beach and charged with vandalism for allegedly causing more than $13,000 in damage and cleanup costs between April 2009 and August 2011.

Sheriff deputies also arrested an unidentified juvenile in Campo on Oct. 18 for alleged vandalism between February and July 2011 that resulted in about $11,000 in damages.

for 218 separate tagging incidences in IB that caused $87,000 in damages and cleanup costs.

At the time, Graffiti Tracker called his arrest the largest restitution of cleanup costs for any tagger ever arrested.
