2 Arrested at Gunpoint on Grove Avenue

The two were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle after entering a home in the 600 block of Grove Avenue by climbing a tree to get on the roof.

With guns drawn, three people were pulled from a home at 614 Grove Ave. around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, a San Diego County Sheriff's Department deputy said.

Around noon, two people who do not live in the home were seen climbing into the home through a second-story window.

The Sheriff’s Department got a call that two people were seen acting suspicious near the home around 12 p.m. The two entered the home by climbing a tree onto the roof of the home.

Weapons were used to bring the people out of the house because deputies were not clear on whether or not the people in the stolen truck broke into the house, the deputy said.

“We didn’t know what they were doing,” he said. “People typically don’t climb up a tree and onto the roof of a house.”

The two were unarmed and will be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, the deputy said. At least one of the two arrested was under the influence of a narcotic controlled substance.

“They may have been here for that, but no one is actually going to tell us that,” he said.

Deputies from the Lemon Grove station assisted in the arrests.
