14 Arrested After Boat Brings Them Across Border

More than a dozen people were arrested on suspicion of entering the United States illegally early Monday morning. A few hours later, 17 other people were arrested.

Around midnight Monday, 14 people were arrested on suspicion of illegally entering the United States after a boat came ashore near the mouth of the Tijuana River, dropped them off and returned to Mexico, Border Patrol officials said.

A few hours later, authorities say another smuggling attempt was made near Camp Pendleton. Seventeen people were arrested.
