The San Diego Women’s Foundation (SDWF) is proud to announce a new lower contribution level for women under 40 who desire to join this dynamic philanthropic organization. Effective immediately, SDWF is offering these women the option to become members for $1,000/year instead of the customary $2,000 annual contribution, and make a difference through the power of pooled philanthropy.
The San Diego Women’s Foundation was founded in 2000 and has grown to an organization of more than 200 members dedicated to pooling their resources and enhancing the community through strategic grant making. As of June 1, 2013, more than $2.5 million has been awarded to 67 community partners. These grants focus on innovative programs that benefit underserved communities in the San Diego region.
“We are so pleased to provide this opportunity for more younger women in San Diego County to become involved with our organization and pool their charitable dollars to make a difference in our region,” said AJ Frank, president of the San Diego Women’s Foundation. “As an organization, we continue to educate and inspire women to engage in significant philanthropy. We have just launched our 2013-2014 grant cycle which is focused on the environment, specifically water quality and conservation and welcome all interested women to attend our kick-off event on September 25 at SDG&E Energy & Innovation Center at 5:30pm.”
