No 4th of July Fireworks in IB?

A friend told me yesterday that there will be no fireworks in Imperial beach this 4th of July. really?  This is ludacris... The city spent a lot of money on new surfboards along Palm ave that you cant even really see and they are growing vining plants up them?? Just expensive plant stakes really.  And what about those  Wierd and dangerous sidewalks that we didn't Really need?  There have been traditions in IB that have gone on for years and they have all disappeared. Wasn't IB supposed to be comped for the last firework show that went bust??  why didn't the city notify the residents sooner so that we could have tried to raise the money since the so called officials are obviously blowing it.  What about the people who love  to spend time here at home in IB and keep their money local. Does our local government care about its residents or just bringing in tourists? Where are our taxes are going? It's pretty sad that the hardworking  families of IB are being continuously let down.  It's those families that keep the wonderful spirit of IB alive.  What about considering what the people of IB want.....just saying...
