colorado has a population of $5.3 million and made $600 million in sales tax from weed .... cali has 7 times more people so our sales tax would be around $4 billion ....

Libi: "colorado has a population of $5.3 million and made $600 million in sales tax from weed" As usual Libi, you are wrong with your figures. It's not $600 million in sales tax - it's $600 million in sales. Big difference. No wonder your audits are failures. The actual truth: Released on Wednesday, the proposal expects the marijuana market in Colorado to bring the state around $98 million in taxes in 2014 off of $610 million in sales, significantly more than the $70 million projected back when voters first voted to legalize recreational pot.

ibchr - you have misplaced anger ....i am not the one that lied to you or talked you into believing lies ....that would be your elected officials, but you don't have the balls to confront them ...too bad for you... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ the tax from $600 million in sales and no increased crime .....just lots of well paying jobs and tax revenue for the communities.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ lies never come true - they're just lies.....boomers will go down in history to be the 1st generation to have facts and knowledge and history - but the masses still couldn't tell the truth from a lie...

Libi - You should probably put down the meth pipe before you post. I was merely revealing the flagrant error in your initial post. No misplaced anger here. But thanks for your concern....-------....!

the state could collect about $134 million in taxes from recreational and medical marijuana for the fiscal year beginning in July....my collective on palm ave the 1st to open in the south bay 2010 south bay compassionate did 5-8 thousand a day in sales every day 7 days a week ,and thats a small number for a collective..in los angeles bay area 10-$25,000 a day is average

I hate the fact that Pro-Dope supporters just want to paint this great rosy picture and it's really not. YUP! Lots of revenune to be generated, but over the long term the state looses money for DWI enforcement, Addiction Treatments, there will still be laws on the books that have to be enforced, like no smoking in public, no smoking in airports, etc...that if you grow it at home you can't sale it for distrubtion without a license, the same issues that go along with alcohol go along with this.

In addition, the last time this was put out to the voters, just a couple of years ago, it failed.
