I just don't understand?

I took my 21 month old grandson down to the park at the beach this afternoon only to be exposed to vulgar language and to witness grown men spitting on the playground numerous times why the young children were playing.  A mother with a small infant proceeded to use every vulgar word in the book.  I will never use the playground again.  Can anything be done about this?

Susan, you don't have to put up with slander, I would recommend contacting the police next time, that is ridiculous.

I want to thank you both for your comments and information. I truly appreciate your support. Having owned my home here for over 13 years now, I am very familiar with the IB Sherriffs department and how they operate. I am considering taking my video camera down to the playground, without my grandson and simply video taping this behavior. I have learned that video seems to be very effective these days. Maybe if these individuals saw themselves in the act, they could possibly see how disgusting it is in a children's playground setting. Thank you again for sharing your comments. I do appreciate the support.

Susan --- perhaps you could try this instead --- ignore them --- or if you must say something tell your Grandson to ignore them ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FYI: In the grass, sand, and dirt there is a lot more than saliva ...

Thanks Jon- I believe by ignoring them the problem only grows. I think that is exactly why we have so many problems in IB. Too many residents turn a blind eye or are afraid to speak up. Thanks anyway.

Susan --- actually my point was there is no problem --- the behavior you witnessed, although offensive to you, goes unnoticed by most --- just as do the plethora of things we all see every time we step into a public place --- imagine this --- as offended as "you" get by what you can see imagine what is going on there when no one is looking ...
