Reuben Bingham died Aug. 15, according to a U-T San Diego obituary.
He was 81.
He served in the Navy and lived in Imperial Beach. He later taught at Harbor View Elementary School, according to the newspaper.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at Del Angel Humphrey Mortuary in Chula Vista, according to the newspaper.
