Helen Creed, 92, passed away in Imperial Beach May 15, according to The Wichita Eagle.
Creed owned her own salon in Colorado at one time and notes doing the hair of actress Phyllis Diller among notable accomplishments, according to a Kansas news publication.
"She loved to bring family and friends around a card table to share a new game she had learned or to teach the next generation how to play cards. She would never leave home without her coffee tin full of pennies," the publication said.
Creed is survived by her children Barbara Seyfried and Beverly Bennett and four siblings, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held in Wellington, KS earlier this week.
