Donald Siegfried—who worked for county parks and recreation for 30 years—died March 23, according to a U-T San Diego obituary.
He was four days short of 84 years old.
Siegfried, a 59-year resident of Imperial Beach, passed away peacefully at home and was surrounded by family and his faithful dog Trooper, U-T San Diego said.
Funeral services have been held. He was laid to rest at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside alongside his wife, Betty.
