Coronado is more than picturesque for visitors and visually stunning for locals, it is the pictorial backdrop for U.S. Navy SEAL training.
A photo taken in Coronado was selected as the U.S. Navy's photo of the day on Thursday. It was shot two days earlier and features Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUDs) students participate in surf passage at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.
The Navy said the "surf passage is one of many physically demanding evolutions that are a part of the first phase of SEAL training." And look at those waves, it looks physically demanding.
