Are we really free under current government leadership and laws? People should be allowed to retire without losing your home.

I know I am not alone, but I also know there are few that view the world as I do.

It seems odd that so many Americans are quick to complain, but so few are slow to do anything.

It appears that we are OK with just complaining and most believe that life is ok. We Are Free! So they say. If we were free then why do we have to work?

You may say for food and shelter, but is that really true? Lets say you worked, bought a house and grow your own food. You have a well for water and a septic system. Could you retire?

No you couldn't.

You would be forced to pay property tax, and if you didn't pay they would take your house away and then you would be homeless.

Or you would have to sell your home, then how would you survive the rest of your life? If you wanted to set up a business you would have to make it big enough to produce a profit high enough to pay for all the permits and yearly fees from the county, state and federal government and your local city.

Its actually insane if you really think about it.

You are working your whole life and in the end you will be poor. You will likely not have enough money to keep your home. I have relatives in that position now.

With this government we have now, our freedoms will contniue to be limited. Can you just go fishing in the ocean? Can you have chickens at your house? I'm not sure a garden is legal, certainly not in some homeowner associations.

Look at the standards and costs to own a car. My eyes are now open and I see clearly.

So what can be done?

It's actually fairly simple: We need good leaders that speak of this and get elected into a substantial office position. Like governor. I volunteer to take the abuse set forth by this endeavor.

I propose to start a website to rent billboards and bring two messages to the state.

First is a bill that would allow anyone who has a house and is retired after age 65 should pay no taxes until they pass away. Secondly I propose a bill that lowers gas prices. Finally I would propose a streamline process for businesses to open in California.
