Several cars on the Silver Strand were shocked into submission, on their way into town, when they were met with several motorcycle traffic deputies–armed and ready for the follow-the-speeder-leader game.
Everyone got a ticket, not just the leader of the pack. So much for the leader taking one for the team!
Several other speeders who made it past the first group of radar bikers–and thought they were clear to speed out of town–were met with more citation issuing bikers at Palm Avenue and Georgia Street.
At $235 per speeding ticket, the county was seen making nearly $2,000 - in less than 20 minutes! I guess that's one way to balance a budget.
No wonder the deputy averted a layoff. He's a profit center!

sheriff's are responders, not predatory..... we don't pay them to target market the citizenry.... ....but maybe this is why our monthly sheriff's bill is so high....
