Coming to Bluray this week from BBC America and BBC Home Entertainment is the second season of a thriller that is most extraordinary with ORPHAN BLACK.
It all begins with episode one as Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) is still piecing together who has her daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler). Det. Bell (Kevin Hanchard) wastes no time looking into the religious cult, the Proletheans, led by Hank (Peter Outerbridge). Alison (Maslany) has taken to the stage in a community play as secrets filter into her home life with Donnie (Kristian Bruun).

Rachel (Maslany) and the Dyad Institute aren’t about to make things easy for the sisters. Sarah is finally taken to Kira and finds out who is really responsible. Cosima (Maslany) and Delphine (Evelyne Brochu) attempt to discover why Sarah with the only sister that has had a child.
Sarah and Kira take to running with Felix (Jordan Gavaris) ending up at the doorstep of someone fans will least expect. Paul (Dylan Cruce) is working closer with Rachel who is determined to get her hands on the little girl.

Mrs. S. (Maria Doyle Kennedy) has more secrets than Sarah could ever have imagined about Project Leda. More clones begin to appear as the truth about their birth at the hands of Dr. Aldous Leekie (Matt Frewer). Cosima is ill and Rachel uses that to her benefit.
Positions begin to shift as power turns and the sisters continues to try to find the answers to who holds the complete truth – and what is Project Castor?
FINAL WORD: Maslany as Sarah, Alison, Rachel, Cosima and some surprises deserves to be called amazing and brilliant. Each of these characters is so cleverly written and specific in their natures it is easy to forget they are played by one person. Maslany completely gives her all too each character and clearly gives the audience the clone ride of their lives. Mentioning the show ORPHAN BLACK and watch the shock and awesomeness on faces and that’s what got me invested in this brilliant series.
Kennedy as Mrs. S. is an even bigger puzzle than Sarah and her sisters. Every time I think I know which way she’s going – she does the unexpected. I have to say I actually love that about her character.
Brochu as Delphine is easily manipulated by Rachel and her love of Cosima makes her take risks that don’t always pay off. Cruce as Paul is another mystery whose character still has more twists as well. Garvais as Felix is adored by most of the sisters and is the supportive of them. He is seriously endearing who I’d love to have as a brother!
Outerbridge as Hank is a man with more than a few screws loose and secrets within his own group that affect the sisters deeply. Frewer as Dr. Leekie is a complicated part of the Dyad Institute who is just as mysterious as Mrs. S.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give ORPHAN BLACK: Season Two four tubs of popcorn out of five. There is everything to love about this series, an excellent cast, fantastic cinematography and leading the pack is Tatiana Maslany and her seven characters.
The storytelling is deliciously complicated and there is no way to predict what anyone is going to do. Keeping the series fresh with each episode is what makes ORPHAN BLACK one of the best shows on television and keeps the gold shining in the golden age of television! Taking such an intense story but the series isn’t without some fantastic humor.
In the end – she is one of a kind several times over!
