Coming to DVD from SHOUT! Kids Factory and Hasbro Studios is another installment in one of the most iconic animated series MY LITTLE PONY: Friendship is Magic.

This film tells the story of Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. These delightful ponies are each given a chance to shine! Staring with Twilight Sparkle who is sent to Ponyville to study what friendship is.

Not happy with going she is more worried about Nightmare Moon who wants eternal night! Twilight Sparkle goes with her five friends to find the Elements of Harmony to stop this from happening.

What Twilight discovers is that she had nothing to fear as each of her friends held the key to stopping Nightmare Moon. Staying in Ponyville to learn more about the true magic of friendship makes everyone happy.

FINAL WORD: The first episode is the catalyst to the other five episodes included in this DVD. I’m not about to give it all away now am I? Each one is very specific in its telling giving viewers a chance to learn a little bit more about their favorite pony. The animation is fantastic and, of course endearing to younger girls who will be asking Santa for a MY LITTLE PONY under their Christmas tree.

It’s very important to teach children the importance of friendship and the MY LITTLE PONY series does an impressive job of just that. It is not a surprise that this series has become iconic as I can remember my daughter playing with her own ponies.

I am all for children watching animated shows that have teachable moments that will stay with them long after the show has ended. The MY LITTLE PONY series does so in such a playful and fun way, which is equally as important and special to young viewers.
