This is the continuing story of the Lambert family. After the horrors in their home, Josh (Patrick Wilson), Renai (Rose Byrne) along with sons Dalton (Ty Simpkins), Foster (Andrew Astor) and baby Kelly retreat to grandmother Lorraine’s (Barbara Hershey) home.

Almost immediately there are signs that something is wrong. With the death of Elise (Lin Shaye), the family needs another medium! Brining in someone who knows what happened to Josh as a child, Carl (Steve Coulter) along with Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker (Angus Sampson) take on the mystery surrounding this family.

It all goes deeper than any of them could have imagined as each begins to see what the other doesn’t – or maybe they just don’t want to!

Coming together is the only thing that will save this family!

FINAL WORD: Wilson as Josh gets a chance to mish-mash his role here. I just loved how he pulls it all together.  As his character deteriorates Wilson’s gaunt face and crazy eyes are awesome!

Byrne as mother Renai has the perfect facial expressions for fear and anxiety. From the moment she hears music playing her nerves are on high alert but the ability to make connections to things is screwed up out of fear.

Simpkins as the young son Dalton has the same amazing ability to be creepy and stay a cute kid at the same time. Keeping his calm when all others around him are losing there’s, he does quite well.

Hershey as Lorraine is the mother who knows more than she’s telling and knew more the first time we sat in on INSIDIOUS (you’ll get what I mean when you see it). It’s always a joy to see Hershey and she seems to have found her niche in the scary genre of films.

Shaye as Elise is a no nonsense type gal and that includes in the afterlife. There better be an INSIDIOUS 3 is all I’m saying and Shaye better be there too! Coulter as Carl gets a chance to flex his medium muscles with a roll of the dice.

Whannell as Specs and Sampson as Tucker are hilarious – even when they are scared witless! The comedy duo is exactly what the film embraces in the midst of madness.

Other cast: Hank Harris as young Carl, Jocelin Donahue as young Lorraine, Lindsay Seim as young Elise Rainier, Tyler Griffin as young parker, Garrett Ryan as young Josh, Tom Fitzpatrick as old Parker, and Danielle Bisutti as Mother of Parker Crane.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER TWO four tubs of popcorn out of five. I had such a good time with a film that made me jump, giggle, drop jaw, laugh and jump some more. I will say it again that this is my favorite type of “horror” film not needing gore, slashing, chopping or anything garish!

This isn’t rocket science folks! Yes, it had elements from films that have been scaring us for the last twenty years. The best part is the writer and director took those 80’s scary movie elements and brought them back to where it belongs – on the big screen! I’m not going to point it out here because I truly want everyone who sees this film to discover what I mean for themselves.

This is an amazing ghost yarn with suspense, creepiness, twisted storyline with awesome effects that don’t have ‘special’ attached to them. The audience responded exactly how I thought they would which added so much more fun to the film. People were whispering to each other, pointing to the screen and squealing and scaring each other!

Yes, I loved every element of the film. Sure there were a few things that will get picked apart but not by me. Going with Jenise aka Film Brat, we had a great time and wouldn’t change a thing!

In the end – they will take what you love most!
