Jeri Jacquin, Movie Maven

Coming to Blu-ray from director Uwe Boll and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is the next story and all IN THE NAME OF THE KING III.

This film tells the story of Hazen Kaine (Dominic Purcell), living in the modern world he is a assassin for hire who wants to retire. Doing one last job he kidnaps two kids and notices the necklace worn by one of the girls – it matches the tattoo on his arm.

Taking it with him a portal opens pulling him into another dimension. Walking into a village Kaine learns he is now in the Middle Ages. He meets Arabella (Ralitsa Paskaleva) and Sophie (Petra Gocheva) who explain what is happening in this time.

Now Kaine is truly in the fight of his life as the new mission is to avoid capture, the dragon and help in taking back a kingdom to its people and rightful leader!

FINAL WORD: Purcell as Kaine is exactly the right person to play this role. The scowling looks only add to his already good looks. The first time I saw this actor was in 2004 playing Drake in BLADE: TRINITY and then again in 2005 in the television series PRISON BREAK. Playing Lincoln Burrows, the series lasted until 2009 keeping audiences thrilled. He also contributes to the voice of his character in the 2009-2010 release of the video games.

IN THE NAME OF THE KING he gets to flex his muscles once again playing an assassin with a heart (but not enough NOT to do hired jobs) until he is back in the Middle Ages where his talents are most useful.

Paskaleva as Arabella is beautiful and has no problem telling it like it is. Helping Kaine’s character is fun to watch as the two square off on more than one occasion. Gocheva as Sophie is another lovely who takes on the challenges but never forgets she’s a girl (and I mean that in a good way).

Other cast include: Bashar Rahal as Ulrich, Joan Mihailov as Boy, Marina Dakova as Alys, Daria Simeonova as Emeline, Stefan Spassov as Andon Rakovski, and Shelly Varod as Ana.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is an award-winning entertainment company that has an amazing library of DVD, Blu-ray and Digital HD for film lovers everywhere.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give IN THE NAME OF THE KING III three tubs of popcorn out of five. This is definitely a DVD worth watching on a Saturday afternoon, especially if you have the other two installments and make a time of it.

It doesn’t start out with the best acting and I’m not afraid to say it but the story does move on and that’s when the fun begins. From sword fighting to awesome dragons – that’s where the adventure begins.

The DVD includes a television, Computer, tablet and Smartphone Digital HD format along with the Blu-ray. The special features include “The Making of IN THE NAME OF THE KING 3: The Last Mission.

In the end – join the battle and live the adventure!
