This film tells the story of Anna (Kristen Bell), a princess who loves her sister Elsa (Idina Menzel) very much. Close as young children, an accident because of Elsa’s ice powers leaves them separated even in close quarters.

As Elsa is due to be crowned at Queen of Arendelle, the two sisters have a chance to see one another again. With there long separation Elsa finds a crush in Prince Hans (Santino Fontana) but Elsa isn’t hearing of it. As a heated discussion breaks out it takes only moments before everyone sees Elsa’s powers!

Running away from Arendelle, the new Queen hides high up in the mountains not realizing that her people have been frozen in the middle of summer. Anna takes it upon herself to find her sister and meets mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) who guides her to the ice castle. With trusty steed Sven and a little snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad) they must work together to make things right again.

Because not everything in Arendelle is what it seems!

FINAL WORD: Anna is such a fiery character and voiced by Kristen Bell she also has her moments of endearment. Wanting to be loved after feeling as if she has lost her sister the story is only given more charm with the amazing songs and humor.

Menzel as Elsa has a voice that is absolutely spectacular. The love of family is worth the sacrifice of being alone to her. Protecting her sister and the people of Arendelle are the values instilled from her parents.

From the hilarity of Gad’s voice of Olaf the very goofy and loveable snowman who only wants to experience summer to Sven the reindeer who has such spot on facial expressions, Disney has given us two more characters to be in love with!

Groff as Kristoff is hardheaded and charming along with his troll family who know the secrets of the ice. There isn’t anything about him that a family watching wouldn’t like.

Other cast includes: Ciaran Hinds as Grandpa, Chris Williams as Oaken, Stephen J. Anderson as Kai, Edie McClurg as Gerda, Robert Pine as Bishop, and Maurice LaMarche as the King.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give FROZEN three and a half tubs of popcorn out of five. The fact that the film is based on “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen brings me so much joy. I began reading his stories when I was quite young and was one of those responsible for my love of classic tales.

The animation is crisp (no pun intended), bright and colorful filled with a beautiful story and brilliant graphics. What else could a family looking for a holiday film want more of? Okay, add some snappy tunes and you have perfection.

From the creators of TANGLED and WRECK-IT RALPH, Disney has once again brought a story that will remain with viewers and a DVD that will be in every families home library. I can’t wait to take my granddaughter to have some fun, a lot of laughs, a little singing and a story that is timeless.

In the end – mystical trolls, a hilarious snowman and two sisters’ love help thaw what is frozen!
