Opening in theatres this Friday from director Philipp Stolzl and Radius TWC a mystery that calls for action before everything is ERASED.  

This film tells the story of Ben Logan (Aaron Eckhart), an ex-CIA agent who works in Europe at a good technology job. Raising his daughter Amy (Liana Liberato) on his own they are saying hello and goodbye each morning and that’s about it.  

Logan throws himself into his job finding flaws in security systems for the company’s clients. He finds something peculiar in a project and shares it with Anna (Olga Kurylenko) – and things get chaotic from that moment on.  

Within a matter of hours Logan discovers that his job no longer exists, along with Amy they discover the company literally disappears. There is no record of Logan ever working for the company, no pay records – nothing.  

In his search for answers, Logan and his daughter are now the targets by those who want them both dead. Logan must backtrack and piece together how it came to this before he and his daughter are taken out.  

FINAL WORD: Eckhart as Logan is perfect for this role. Once he gets his bearings to the situation, Eckhart’s character is methodical in finding solutions and connections. There is believability about this actor, as there always has been, that no stone will be left unturned looking for answers. Once the initial shock of being erased has worn off, Eckhart’s character jumps in full force.  

Liberato as Amy portrays the typical teen with an attitude problem when things aren’t going her way. Personally I’m a little over that kind of teen-character’s behavior because not only is it annoying but also I find it a reason to stay away from teens altogether. The good news here is that Liberato’s character does prove useful, intelligent and helpful in solving the mystery.  

Other cast include: Garrick Hagon as James Halgate, Eric Godon as Maitland, Yassine Fadel as Nabil, Neil Napier as Derek Kohler, David Bark-Jones as Marty Braymer, Alexander Fehling as Floyd, Nick Alachiotis as Walter and Ronnie Commissaris as Karl Van Doorn.  

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give ERASED three tubs of popcorn out of five. I have always been a fan of Eckhart as he continues to put out good work. The story is well paced, the scenery is beautiful as it flies by, the characters give it everything they have and the bad guys rethink messing with the ex-CIA guy! Seriously nothing wrong with that kind of film.  

This is definitely a mystery wrapped up in an action film with plot twists that make it a who-done-it worth a look. Hit the theatre up with a tub of popcorn and thinking cap!  

In the end – be careful whom you work for!
