Opening in theatres this Friday from director Fede Alvarez and Sony Pictures comes the tale of disaster in the woods when your dealing with EVIL DEAD.

This film tells the story of Mia (Jane Levy), she is a recovering drug addict and all of her friends decide to take her to the cabin to recover. This time they all agree that if she wants to leave they will stop her. This includes David (Shiloh Fernandez) her brother, Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) with animosity toward David, Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore).

In the house there is a door under the carpet. They go in and find odd things hanging but also a book. Mia is outside in the rain when David opens the book that specifically says, "don't open". She is hit with something dark and haunting that envelops her.

Thinking Mia is going through withdrawls, they try to control her but everything turns on them. The group has no choice but to find a way to stop Mia and looks to the book for answers. What they find will shock them all.

It's a fight for survival!

FINAL WORD: Levy as Mia was a believable drug addict. She had that dark-woe-is-me presence that lends to the character. Fernandez as David gets through the film by his looks alone,.

Pucci is the smart guy of the film. Lucas as Olivia is the nurse and Blackmore seems to be there for the ride. I can't really tell you what her purpose was except maybe for another soul to kill.

Nobody's performance actually stands out but Levy as Mia really. She gets to be a demon most of the movie while the rest jerk there heads and get all wiggly.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give EVIL DEAD two tubs of popcorn out of five. This film reminded me of CABIN IN THE WOODS with the horror B movie effects. It doesn't seem original and really didn't scare me. I'm still wondering how it is the "most terrifying movie experience".

Terrifying to me is something that stands out and lasts a few days. Films like THE HILLS HAVE EYES and MAMA do that to me. I recently bought THE LADY IN WHITE and THAT scares me more than this with its creepiness.

The only thing that scared me here was the cats - wait for the first five minutes of the movie and if you are ,ossomg a cat ya might wanna check there!

In the end - yea, not scary!
