Coming to DVD this Tuesday, December 11th from Well Go USA Entertainment is a series of stories from the DOOMSDAY BOOK.

This film tells several stories starting with Chapter 1 - BRAVE NEW WORLD (directed Kim Ji-woon) as a virus plagues a city because of what is in the trash. The people begin to turn into zombies that take over the city of Seoul, Korea.

Chapter 2 – HEAVENLY CREATURE (directed by Kim Ji-woon) tells the story of a robot who has many questioning technology and religion being able to co-exist. As the robot is protected by those who believe it has a soul must take on the company that wants to destroy it.

In Chapter 3 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY (directed by Yim Pil-Sung) tells the story of Park Min-seo (Jin Ji-he), an elementary school students that purchases off the internet. What he buys puts the earth at risk of extinction.

FINAL WORD: BRAVE NEW WORLD takes on what is popular right now which is zombies. There is nothing left to the imagination as director Ji-woon goes full on zombie. There are moments of humor here as well and the zombies are totally cool.

HEAVENLY CREATURE is so touching and beautiful. He robot did not have a mean bone in his body but instead tried to offer hope to the world and even to the corporation that created him. I think this is the most heart breaking of the three chapters to tell the truth. Who is to say who or what has a soul?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY totally takes on the internet and the lack of parental guidance in using that technology. There is some humor here also but the end result isn’t anything to laugh about.

I have to say there are many American films that a viewer could say ‘hey, that’s like’ movies such as I, ROBOT, ARMAGEDDON, and WALKING DEAD. Nothing wrong with using a good idea, especially when DOOMSDAY BOOK seems more like its putting pieces together to offer up another theory.

Well Go USA Entertainment specializes in bringing Asian Cinema to North America. There number of releases continues to grow and capture the attention of martial arts fans and foreign films lovers. For more of their offerings go to www.wellgousa.com.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give DOOMSDAY BOOK three and a half tubs of popcorn. I truly enjoyed the connect and equal disconnect of the stories. They each have something to say but together offer up the reactions of people who totally fear what they don’t know –and in some cases refuses to understand.

Each story offers up something relative with the zombie apocalypse, technology growing by leaps and bounds and finally, how would the human race survive the possibility of extinction?

In the end - three visions of the world, one mind blowing story, welcome to the future!
