Jeri Jacquin, Movie Maven

On DVD from directors Brian Dilg and Linda G. Mills and SISU Home Entertainment comes a very personal look inside a families journey into the past with AUF WIEDERSEHEN: ‘Til We Meet Again.

This documentary tells the story of Linda Mills and her family. After the experience of September 11th, she is compelled to find out her own families tragic history and the memories they don’t speak about.

In 1939, Linda’s family fled Vienna to get away from the Nazi’s. Knowing there is so much more to the story than her mother is able to say, Linda decides to unravel the mystery.

Arriving in Vienna the family can’t believe the change in the city and all the beauty they remember. Visiting the family home the memories come flooding back, the good and the sad.

This trip will bring them all answers and even peace.

The family includes: Peter Goodrich, Ronnie Goodrich, Lothar Holbling, Susannah Kemple, Klaus Maurer, Adele Mills, Anne Mills, Harold Mills, Linda G. Mills, Herbert Posch, Doron Rabinovici, Jack Sinder and Rita Sinder.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give AUF WIEDERSEHEN: ‘Til We Meet Again three and a half tubs of popcorn out of five. What an amazing story to be shared! There are such intense emotions yet such wonderful love and humor at the same time.

Listening to the stories shared by the family and the amazing discoveries that were still to be had by this family is beautifully captured. I really was moved by Linda’s mother and Aunt and just giggling with her son and his young man antics.

The film has won awards from the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival and the Los Angeles Cinema. It is the Official Selection of the Vienna Jewish Film Festival, Jerusalem Detroit & Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival.
