Normal Heights has "Art Kids" Corner

July 19, 2014 Normal Heights, (San Diego) CA
Normal Heights at the corner of Adams Ave. and Felton have seven newly painted utility boxes. The seven boxes were all painted by, "The Art Kids of San Diego County." These young artist have taken on the task of beautifying the San Diego County with art of all kinds. Concentrating mostly in the South Bay area, "The Art Kids," have been working with Chula Vista, Coronado, South San Diego, Normal Heights and other communities throughout the south bay area.

"The Art Kids of San Diego County,"(TAKOSDC) used to be active in the Imperial Beach area and were responsible for over half of the utility boxes painted there. But politics and not kissing up to the mayor left a bitter taste in TAKOSDC's mouth so they moved their classes to Chula Vista where they were welcomed with open arms and shown an appreciation for the arts.
The Kids now work along side the South Bay Front Artists Association and aid in Chula Vista's events. The first one coming up will be their annual Pow-Wow on August 2nd and 3rd at the Marina Parkway park in the "J" Street Marina area.

It is a true joy and a great experience when the kids create incredible art for the communities. People come up and compliment the kids for their efforts and their fantastic work. While painting the utility boxes numerous people came and thanked the kids for their incredible work and for beautifying their part of the city.
Another project undertaken by the kids is the display of art at the Chula Vista Superior Court House. TAKOSDC is responsible for the display of art one the first floor of the court house. The art is changed out every six weeks and any young artists may have their art displayed for the six week period.
All one has to do is contact the director of the Art Kids through the website: www.takosdc.com
TAKOSDC will be participating in other projects that will beautify the South Bay area and it will be a pleasure to update you on these activities.
