Young IB Artist Wins State Award for Poster

Lily received $250 for her poster that won third place in a statewide Lion's Club International competition.

Lily Loudon, 13, of Imperial Beach won third place in the state for her poster design, “A Soldier’s Peace.” The yearly competition is international and judges from all over critique the art submitted by young artists throughout the entire globe for the Lion’s Club International poster with a theme of peace.

Lily’s work started on the local level where her work was chosen by the local Lion’s Club, from there it went to district, then to area and then on to state. Her design made it to state where she placed third and received an honorable mention for her work.

On May 1 she will receive a plaque from the Lion’s Club International and a check for $250.00 for her accomplishments. She was chosen from the local area where she had some very fine competition. Lily is a member of, The Art Kids of San Diego County and takes art classes every Saturday in Chula Vista at the Bayside Park off the Chula Vista Marina.

Ms. Loudon has gone further than anyone so far since we have been participating in this yearly program and her poster truly spoke of knowing and understanding Peace. The money she will receive I am sure will be put to good use.
