Christmas 2012

            Upon us comes the Christians’ day of celebration for a birth long ago,

It is a time of remembering that event that set the world a glow.

            His birth has changed millions of lives since that incredible day,

We were taught to love one another, to live in peace and especially how to pray.

            Yet these years past, we as humans have forgotten what He taught.

Instead of love, peace and harmony we’ve learned hate in wars we have fought.

            We fight with other beliefs as to how we are to love our God above,

Killing those who oppose us was never the plan He shared concerning His Love.

            Jesus never forced what He taught to those that came around.

His journey was that of Calvary as he walked from town to town.

            The destiny He knew, His time on earth was short, yet He gave His all.

He stood for love and peace among men, for that He stood ten feet tall.

            His birth is yet once a year but He lived and taught each and every day,

I am sure it saddens Him to watch us destroy His love as all goes astray.

            It is time to renew our love for Him by showing His peace upon earth,

Celebrating what He came for and the miracle of His magnificent birth.

            To love one another not just for this special time of year,

But to work at it everyday, living in peace, without hate, anger and fear.

            The God I know is greater than all, His love conquers large and small.

It provides comfort for those who come to him whether they walk or crawl.

            His love was the reason that He came and walked upon this blue sphere.

So we could read of His life, believe in His way and draw ourselves near.

            Therefore, do as He did, love one another share His love from this point on

As a celebration of His birth be an example of what He taught by word and song.

            Bring joy to others, hope for all those who cross this path of light

So we may share His eternal love which shines as the Star did oh so very bright.
