Are French, Jazz Band and Other Musical Programs Being Dropped at Mar Vista High?

Getting information through the grapevine, I heard that classes at Mar Vista High School are being dropped from their curriculum.

Among those classes being dropped are French, Jazz band and other musical programs. Is this happening only at Mar Vista High or is it happening at all the Sweetwater High Schools?

We know that the district is having financial problems but are they affecting only the south bay high schools especially the one in Imperial Beach or is it district wide? A number of parents are asking these questions as their children are coming home and reporting that there are a number of classes being discontinued because of budget cuts.

If anyone has the inside track on this and can comment on the condition of our high school classes, please let us know.
