Ready for the ghosts and goblins, naughty nurses and superheroes?
Halloween celebrations around IB start Saturday. Here is a collection of things to do in or near IB for Halloween. And the very best part: you can go to all these events for free.

3RD ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL
- Where/when: Boys & Girls Club of South County, 847 Encina Ave., Oct. 20 from 11 a.m to 3 p.m.
- Why go: Costume contests, carnival games, raffle prizes, bounce house, face painting and more. Games start at 25 cents.
- Price: Free.
PUMPKIN PAZLOOZA
- Where/when: Suzie's Farm, 2512 Sunset Ave., San Diego, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Why go: Pick out organic pumpkins while enjoying live music and fresh food trucks. Bring a blanket or some chairs and have a picnic.
- Price: Free.
A CARNIVAL WITH COFFEE
- Where/when: West Coast Cafe, 208 Palm Ave., Oct. 27 from 2-6 p.m.
- Why go: All ages costume contest, halloween party and live biker rock, blues and rock & roll from Border Town Bust, Bedpost Buzzard and La Receta de la Abuela. Barbecue caterer from 3-6 p.m.
- Price: Free.
BOULEVARD BOO
- Where/when: Veterans Park, 1075 8th St., Oct. 27 from 12-4 p.m.
- Why go: IB's biggest Halloween celebration is going to be a lot bigger this year! More than 1,000 people are expected to attend.
- Price: Free.
CREATURES AND COCKTAILS COSTUME PARTY
- Where/when: Crystal Cove Cocktails, 995 Palm Ave., Oct. 27 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Why go: Drink specials, costume contest, live music and free pool
- Price: No cover but must be 21 or over with valid ID
PET COSTUME CONTEST
- Where/when: IB Pet, Palm Ave., Oct. 28 from 10-12 p.m.
- Why go: Bring you cat or dog to this coustme contest and win your pet prizes.
- Price: Free.
ZOMBIE RESURRECTION HAUNTED HOUSE
- Where/when: Mar Vista High School, 505 Elm Ave., Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m.
- Why go: Rumor is that the dead buried in a cemetary beneath the Old Gym will rise and torment the living.
- Price: $4; students only.
CAMP SURF CARNIVAL
- Where/when: YMCA Camp Surf, 560 Silver Strand Blvd., Oct. 31 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- Why go: Bounce house, prizes, crafts, games, Especially for children 12 and under. Food and drinks $1 each.
- Price: Free.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
- Strong Tower Community Church, 1439 Imperial Beach Blvd., Oct. 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
- Why go: Food, games, candy and arts and crafts
- Price: Free
TRUNK-OR-TREAT
- Where/when: St. James Lutheran Church and School, 866 Imperial Beach Blvd., Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.
- Why go: A safe, fun way to trick-or-treat. Instead of going home to home, go trunk to trunk in the parking lot of St. James Lutheran Church and School.
