- Donate a non-perishable item at D'ames Day Spa and get a raffle ticket. Toiletry donations like toothbrushes or deodorant also get a raffle ticket. Canned food should not need a can opener. Non-perishables will be donated to homeless people Christmas Day, LaPausky said.

The drawing will be held at D'ames Day Spa's 704 Seacoast Dr. location at noon on Christmas Eve.

Results will be posted on D'ames Facebook page and Imperial Beach Patch.

The contest is an opportunity to celebrate locals who have waited more than a decade for a hotel to open and replace the Seacoast Inn, LaPausky said.

"People are so stoked, a man came in yesterday screaming when he heard we were part of the hotel," LaPausky said. "I wanted to do something for all the people that have been waiting, to give them an opportunity to come in and experience this. I think they deserve to get a chance to experience this. It really is their hotel."

Cabinetry and other installations are still being made to prepare D'ames space inside the hotel, she said. Services offered by the spa will often be performed in rooms at the hotel, not just in the ground floor location.
