Wet T-Shirt Contest, Cardboard Box Race Among Relay for Life Events Saturday

To celebrate life, remember those who have passed away and raise money for the American Cancer Society, a 24-hour walk-a-thon called Relay for Life will be held Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at Mar Vista High School.

Food, several bands and new activities every hour on the track and stage will keep more than a dozen teams walking.

Cancer survivors will be honored Saturday morning and those who died from cancer will be remembered Saturday night when luminarias will line the track.

All are welcome to attend.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. for those who still want to sign up.

There will be a pajama party, wet t-shirt contest, chicken dance and scavenger hunt to name a few activities. The wet t-shirt contest isn't what you may think it is. In this version you wet a shirt, walk to a bucket, ring out the shirt and repeat. First to fill a bucket wins.

For a full list of local bands and musicians to perform and themes of every lap for the event see the PDF documents attached to this story.
