Memorial Fund Established for 4-Year-Old Imperial Beach Boy Killed in Accident

Valentino Fabiani died Tuesday, according to his family. Valentino died after his father allegedly abandoned him after a June 2 car accident near Interstate 5.

The family of Valentino Fabiani, a four-year-old from Imperial Beach who died after being injured in a June 2 car accident near Old Town, has requested that that those who wish to remember him donate to the Valentino Fabiani Memorial Fund at Chase Bank.

The routing number is 425127631, according to 10News.

Valentino was killed allegedly when his father left his side after the car accident.

Witnesses said after his Nisan Titan truck that was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 crashed into a guardrail and fell down an embankment, Angelo Fabiani Arroyo fled the scene.

At some point after the crash witnesses said Angelo released his son from his seat and he fell 10 feet to the sidewalk below. Passersby looked after him until emergency services arrived. Valentino was subsequently taken to Rady Children's Hospital to be treated for severe head injuries.

Family friend Martha Tolles said Angelo went "crazy, crazy" and ran all the way to Imperial Beach, arriving with blisters on his feet.

Captured two days later in IB, Angelo pleaded not guilty to the crime at his arraignment last week. Officials have said Angelo, 40, has a previous drunk driving conviction.

Angelo Fabiani Arroyo is next due in court June 17. His bail is set at $150,000.
