SeptemberFest Before Oktoberfest: Bratwursts and Beer for Charity Saturday

The Imperial Beach-South Bay Kiwanis Club fundraiser will help raise money for scholarships, library books and acts of charity by the volunteer organization.

The following information was provided by Kiwanis Club member and former City Manager Gary Brown.

The Imperial Beach-South Bay Kiwanis Club will host its first annual SeptemberFest: Bratwurst and Beer 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the Imperial Beach Boys and Girls Club at 847 Encina Avenue in Imperial Beach.

"This will be a fun-filled early evening for everybody who's 21 or over and wants to kick back or dance, and enjoy friends, live music presented by the Freaki Tiki Band, plus have a brat and a beer or a glass of wine," Club President Deric Fernandez said.

Soft drinks and water will also be available. All for just a $10 dollar donation to support civic activities like  Children's Hospital, Student of the Month recognition, scholarships, Paint IB, Kids Fishing Derby, after school programs, books for school libraries and Disabled Athletes.

Coronado Brewing Company, Imperial Villa Properties, San Diego Manufactured Housing, JMB Sanitation, Mike and Sally Bixler, Doug Frost, Karl Strauss Brewing Company and EDCO Waste and Recycling Services are key sponsors of this early celebration of Oktoberfest.

For additional information, please contact Deric Fernandez at 619-400-9037 or anybody at 619-423-7093.
