Health Center to Launch Alzheimer's Education Campaign for Latinos

San Ysidro Health Center hosts “Mantenga Su Mente Activa – National Promotores Graduation,” a program to help Latinos understand the risk factors of Alzheimer's Disease.

The program was launched in Oklahoma City last year and is expanding to the southwest because of private grant funding.

Latinos are 1.5 times more likely to suffer from the disease as compared to Caucasians. With the expansion of the Latino population, it is estimated that as many as 1.5 million could suffer from Alzheimer's by 2050.
