The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Carlsbad’s brightest educational programs and top teachers at its annual Outstanding Educational Program Awards Dinner.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at the La Costa Resort and Spa, 2100 Costa del Mar Road, Carlsbad. During the event, awards will be given in four categories: best arts program, best entrepreneurial program, best innovative program and best science program.
The evening also will honor the teachers of the year from the Carlsbad Unified and Encinitas Union school districts.

“This is a unique opportunity for businesses to support the programs that are making a difference in the lives of Carlsbad’s youth,” said Toni Padron, COO and executive vice president of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. “This is in keeping with the mission of our education committee, which seeks to foster a relationship between businesses and the community and support the future workforce.”
The winning programs and finalists are also assisted financially, receiving awards of up to $500.

The extraordinary event will include entertainment provided by local students, a multimedia presentation of finalist programs, a reception featuring displays of Carlsbad school programs and a gourmet dinner at the exclusive La Costa Resort and Spa.
More than 350 people, including business leaders, educators, elected officials and community members, attended the awards dinner last year.
Help the Carlsbad Chamber and its Partners in Education Foundation toast a teacher by attending the event, sponsoring a school or purchasing a corporate table. Those who want to support education must register by April 23. Business attire is suggested.
The cost of corporate tickets $100 per person or $975 for Silver Table Sponsorship (includes a table of 10 of which two will sponsor an award finalist). The price for school district employees is $50 or $500 for a table of 10. Businesses and individuals are welcome to sponsor a table for a school at the reduced rate. Event sponsorship opportunities also are available.
The program sponsors are the La Costa Resort and Spa, LEGOLAND California, Life Technologies, NRG Energy, RAM Enterprises International, Sylvan Learning and Tri-City Medical Center.
