California Coastal Cleanup Day

Be part of the largest cleanup activity in the state and come lend a hand at Calfornia Coastal Cleanup Day, part of International Coastal Cleanup.

Ocean Conservancy, the event's organizer, said last year near 9 million volunteers in more than 150 countries participated in what has become the largest ocean conservancy effort in the world.

As in year's past, Dairy Mart Road Bridge in the Tijuana River Valley is listed as desparately in need of volunteers. Though not as scenic as other cleanup sites along the beach, past Dairy Mart Road cleanups have allotted .

Cleaning the Tijuana River Valley is important before the wet season begins and trash in the area is washed into the estuary or ocean.

All paricipants must sign waivers. Any participants under 18 must have a signature from a parent or guardian.
