Yesterday's Dreams

This is included in my book entitled "Fairy Tales Can Be Real".  When I saw the picture asking for captions I thought of this.  I don't know if I already posted this poem but the time seems right.

Laughter, surfboards and sand in my toes

Testing the wares

Saying hello

To everyone we know

And smiling at some that we don’t

Hiding from an old love affair

Pretending it never happened

Eyes Meet

Time to retreat to the Olde Plank Inn

Walking down seacoast

Remembering a time

How many decades ago?

Drinking a glass of yesterday’s wine

And eating well seasoned crow

The parade is now a thing of the past

No fireworks light up the sky

No more walking down the street with

A beer in hand

Looking over our shoulders at

Yesterday’s dreams will the castles be still

Made of sand?

right.
