What is right and what is wrong

How many times have you heard that song

And have the lyrics changed?

If you’re 4, they cheer the training wheels

At 6 not so much

At 7, go solo they chant

But what if you  can’t

And land where the sun don’t shine

Be kind and I’ll  help up

At 13, they’re all about advice

Saying a T-Shirt will suffice

But 16's just over the bend

You want to become a fashion plate

Looking for that perfect date

Trying on dress after dress

Wanting to impress

At 18, you make him guess

And dress for success

Spending  more and wearing less

 Now you have just begun

You’re 21

Pop the cork, start the fun

Looking for the perfect one

finding a dozen broken hearts

then you finally know

As you stroll through your timeline

Awesome peaks

Tearful  valleys

Flowery meadows

Trash filled alleys

Going by much to fast

Can’t absorb

Enough to last

They say you’re a senior now

What does that mean

Not knowing where to turn

Which way to go

Now I am 65

Pop the cork, I’m still alive

The perfect one has come and gone

Mended hearts, now move on

Where to: I’m still not sure

What the heck I’m living for

Wanting more

Wanting more
