Poem: A Pebble

Just expressing feelings and thoughts in dealing with losing someone by death or divorce and the darkest days.

A  Pebble

I remember a time when I didn’t cry

Waking up with a smile, ready to meet the day

Those days are gone

I don’t know where I am going now

I talk in ways that don’t make sense

Like when I was a child

Or “not quite an adult”

Searching to find myself

knowing life isn’t always how you see it

Through rose colored designer glasses

knowing enough to realize

Disillusioned and afraid to take a chance

At friendship?  At romance?  At love?

Telling others not to “live within themselves”

But that’s exactly what I’m doing

Building walls and becoming the rock

In Simon and Garfunkle’s song, but on a smaller scale

Not knowing what is right or wrong

And sometimes not caring.
